The Portland Christian School System, based in Louisville, Kentucky, with campuses in the Portland and Eastside neighborhoods of Louisville, is a private Christian school traditionally supported and affiliated with those churches of Christ which held to a premillennial eschatology characteristic of Robert Henry Boll. Founded in 1924 in the rear of the Portland Avenue Church of Christ with Boll's support, today the school system has over three hundred students attending two campuses in Louisville. The school's mission statement states that it is "committed to honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the creator of all things, with a learning environment that is based on biblical principles and is intellectually stimulating. Our desire is to work cooperatively with the student's home and church, 'so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.' II Tim. 3:17 (NIV)". The former college-level division of PCS was the School of Biblical Studies which now operates independently as Kentuckiana Bibile College. Portland Christian is operated by the non-profit Portland Christian School System, Inc., which was formed in 2005 after it and Portland Ave. Church of Christ decided that "the operations of the () system has outgrown the ability of the Church to administer".〔http://apps.sos.ky.gov/business/obdb/(ve2xdr3otn0fjtjicknbi33r)/obdbdisplayimage.aspx?id=410822&page=1〕 == Tuition == Portland Christian School was started with a missionary emphasis and was operated as a tuition-free institution until 1986. That mission continues today with more than one-third of the cost of educating students coming from gifts given by churches and individuals interested in supporting Christian education. PCS is unique in the Louisville area in that it does not charge a set tuition. The tuition is set based on the financial situation of the individual family, determined by an independent 3rd party. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Portland Christian School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
